He composes music for film and theater, records his own CDs and also produces albums for other musicians. He has toured in concert throughout Europe, the United States, including a performance at Carnegie Hall, and Africa. In the late 1980s, Siebert met the medicine man Sun Bear and became his student. During meditative journeys at the pyramids, he had the unique opportunity to make recordings in the Cheops pyramid. These experiences changed him, and he turned his back on the city, moved to the Black Forest and began focusing on projects dedicated to benefiting the earth and humankind.Siebert believes that music is one of life's gifts and that to be a composer carries a condition, which is to give everything and receive even more in return. Siebert says, "I thank all the energies that flowed with me into the creation of this music as they strengthened it in a high measure. I stand before you truly astonished at the beauty that has been created."

On WAVE HANDS LIKE CLOUDS, Buedi Siebert does the seemingly impossible: he combines power and gentleness in music that perfectly illustrates the principles of yin/yang, a subject that is close to his heart. Yin/yang, a well-known concept based in Eastern philosophy, deals with the meeting of the hard with the soft, or the darkness with the light. In other words, complementary forces provide balance to individuals, to nature, and to the world itself. On WAVE HANDS LIKE CLOUDS, Siebert uses his skills as a classically trained flutist to lend airy lightness to many of the album tracks, while gongs and chimes provide aural grounding.
